COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH PAC PLEASE PRINT CONTRIBUTION FORM ************************************************************ Help increase your voice in New York State Government. No one has to tell you how important government can be to our professional and personal lives. It can affect virtually every aspect of what we do. For state legislators, finding what is best for their constituencies is often difficult and complex. In this day and age, there are many more competing factors than there ever has been before, with all sides arguing valid points. Those of us who are interested in preserving and expanding residential opportunities for persons with severe and persistent psychiatric disabilities have an obligation to do everything we can to help government understand the issues related to housing for this population. Regardless of which political party the legislator is from, or what you may have read in the press, there is genuine concern on the part of legislators to do the right thing. Trying to decipher the quagmire of facts, figures, and emotions can be an extremely difficult process for any legislator. A political action committee is a vehicle by which monies can be collected from a group of individuals or organizations that have common political interests, and expended on candidates who support those interests. The Community Mental Health PAC is a political action committee that contributes to many elected officials who support legislation of common interest. It is said that “before politicians can become Statesman they need to get elected,” and anyone who has run for political office can tell you that one of the most important ingredients in any campaign is having enough money to appropriately deliver a message to the voters. By supporting the Community Mental Health PAC, you will strengthen your voice in the political process. It will help us show that, not only are we involved at the issue level, but also at the level most meaningful to those who must face the electoral process. All State seat in the Senate and the Assembly, as well as the Governor’s Office, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Comptroller’s Office, are up for election or re-election this year. We need to begin now so that we can show that the Community Mental Health PAC will be supportive of those people who will move our agenda forward, this year and in the years to come. PAC RULES
