Division of Budget Releases Mid-Year Update

Unfortunately, receipts are not coming as expected into the state coffers and so the Governor has adjusted his projections for this current state fiscal year AND next year’s fiscal year. There is a new shortfall for this current fiscal year and an increased shortfall for next year. The state has already told the O agencies to reduce spending by 2.5% on the STATE SIDE. And we already know that cuts from this past year will continue through next. The question is, how will the shortfalls of $350 million for this year and $3 billion for next year be dealt with? We will keep you posted and work to minimize or eliminate any impact on our programs. Toni
CURRENT YEAR SHORTFALL: $350 million
NEXT YEAR’S SHORTFALL: $3.0 billion to $3.5 billion (up from previously estimated $2.5 billion.)
